Terrible thermostat

It takes at least 10 minutes after the oven indicates it™™s preheated to come up to the selected temperature, and I am no better off than I was with my old oven. This oven combo has many fancy features, but doesn™™t meet the most basic standard of accurately reflecting the temperature. The first oven was so far off that the store replaced it, which was welcome as the racks were nearly impossible to slide in and out. The thermostat on the new one is slightly better, and the racks work fine. But jeez, I expected more given the price. I wish I had stuck with my old one.

I™™d score it higher, because I love the added functionality of the top oven. However, it™™s just as well that the top acts as a convection oven, because it™™s impossible to manoeuvre the shelves in the bottom. Mine are not as depicted in the manual and will not easily go back without forcing - afraid something will break. And the excruciating squeaking noise because you have to oil everything? How is that not going to burn on and be impossible to remove? I™™ve had countless ovens over the years and never had to worry about moving shelves! ðContacted customer service and they managed to not answer a single question.

We were warned that we may not like the knob! Wrong. The knob takes me to 100s of options: melt or soften butter, cook fresh veggies, reheat casserole by # of cups, etc with a touch of the knob! Makes popcorn like a champ, not something my old combo did (another brand). Easy to use, accurate. I love it! Regarding the lower oven: my only complaint is you need instructions on how to move the racks to different spaces. PS I also love my CafÃ bar fridge, built in 4 door fridge and dishwasher.

We purchased all GE Cafe appliances three years ago with a remodel. Three trips to repair the refrig, one trip for the dishwasher and the bulb in the combo Microwave oven/Full Convection oven combo is out. You can replace the light bulb in the oven but not the microwave...guess which bulb is not working? They expect you to have a factory trained service tech come out to disassemble the microwave to change the light bulb. Worst design ever, would suggest staying far away from GE appliances.

Sold as 240v but Advantium same as 120v

This product is sold as a 240 V product. The Advantium oven on it has the same cooking times, features and power as a 120 V Advantium Oven. I have used both and this was supposed to be the double Oven of my dreams. I gave it a four star because the only reason I could not give it a five star is that the Advantium does not operate as a 240 V Advantium. Otherwise, that is one of the most fabulous Oven sets a person could have in their kitchen. I am extremely disappointed. I will be disappointed for the rest of my life. I am 56 years old and this may likely be the last ovens I will own. I have a 120 V Advantium oven that I was replacing with this in order to step up to 240 V.

Really disappointed with the lower ovens finish. I used the self cleaning mode after cleaning up spills on the lowest time. The extreme heat removed a large part of the oven finish on the floor of the oven. It™™s a new oven! GE refused to cover it saying it was cosmetic not functional. Crappy customer service for an expensive oven.

We love our new Double Wall Oven. It™™s such an upgrade from our previous separate microwave and single oven. The only reason I cannot give a full 5 Stars is the microwave function in the top oven lacks a ™done™ sound, at least one that can be heard. (It provides a very, very low decibel tone.) If GE could attach a normal chime, then this Cafe Double Oven earns a 6!!

Oven temperatures seem to be just right. Need backlighting on the pad controls. Hard to read in dim light. Oven racks are difficult to get in and out. We have to relearn the trick every time. We like the capacity for both ovens. We have not tried the various cooking modes yet. It does the jobs we need done for cooking.

I love the way this oven streamlines my kitchen. It eliminates the need for a countertop microwave that takes up work space. It looks quite lovely. Fairly large learning curve for Advantium feature™¦probably won™™t use it much. Lower power of microwave (1000watts compared to previous 1200) is requiring some adjustment as well. All doable. Microwave requires many taps to get started. Lower (regular) oven works well and I like the coated racks that should make them easy to keep clean. Haven™™t used self-clean yet. Love the way it looks. All going well so far!

The only thing we noticed that we do not like is after using the oven it seems a lot of hot air is vented towards the floor. Our previous oven did not vent as hot and it was 20 yrs old

Overall the new wall oven is good. It is taking us a little time to get used to the controls. One complaint is the volume of the alarms. My wife and I are both senior citizens. It would nice to be able to adjust the volume. The only adjustment is normal or mute. The normal volume is not loud enough for me to hear.

Two years and 1 month old the microwave and oven stopped working. Technician said probably the motherboard/control panel. When one stops working they both stop working. Ridiculous with how expensive this set and brand is. I tried to book an appointment online and kept getting a try later reply. Definitely will not recommend or purchase this brand.

GE Cafe Advantium -Microwave oven stopping working

I have the GE Cafe Advantium oven / microwave model CTC912P2N1S1. Yesterday, the microwave oven made a scary loud buzzing noise and now it doesn't heat food at all. This unit came with our new construction house that we bought in 04/2022, so it's less than 3 years old. I am surprised at this early failure for a high end and expensive oven like this, and it only had a 1 year warranty?!? My GE dishwasher failed multiple times also, just after the warranty of course. It's a sign of poor quality, very disappointed with GE products.

I gave this oven a low mark as I had to replace it at 4 years . It was no longer under warranty and GE would not stand behind a basically y newer oven and replace it for free or good customer service. When a warrenty is good for only one years, what does that said aboiut the life of the product... ??? Hopefully , this oven will last 10 plus years.

Good build quality. So far so good. One place that could be improved is user controls that required less button pushes. To micorwave for 3:00 it is a good four pushes with a roll of the dial in the middle. My wife just ends up pressing the 30sec button 6 times. I expect to see that button wear out early.

Control Panel Died at 2.5 years

We purchased this product in 5/2022 for $5000. It had a two-year warranty. At 2 1/2 years old, the control panel went out. The part will be almost $1000 plus labor to install it. It is two weeks before Thanksgiving and I'm having dinner here. No timeframe to expect the part to come in. Until now, I was very happy with the product. However, the control panel should not go out in 2.5 years, with two people in the house using the product.

Obviously it's a beutiful appliance. Within a year of us owning this oven it didn't seem to heat to the right temprature so I tried adjusting it. Within 3 years of owning this we finally realized the top burner shorted out. I've never owned an oven that had this issue let alone a $4,500 oven. Since it's been fixed, the oven has worked fine but I would not recommend this oven for the price.

We had our GE Cafe oven/microwave combo for less than a year, and one day the microwave started smoking. The motherboards were burnt up. Disappointed with the product, but must say, GE stood by their warranty, and gave us a replacement. It was installed yesterday, hoping for many good years using the ovens.

I had all Cafe appliances installed when we built our home 3 years ago. I™™m happy with everything but this wall oven/Advantium combo. I thought I™™d be able to use it as a microwave most of the time, and a second oven when needed on occasion. When I try to use the Advantium as an oven, it won™™t reach the target temp. You™™re limited to round cookware or a small square or rectangle because it needs to fit on the rotating turntable - no 9x13. If I try to use the speedcook function I have to consult the Advantium cooking recipes and find something similar to whatever I™™m making because you™™re limited to preset cooking schedules - you can customize them, but it™™s a hassle. The bulb that should light when the microwave is used burned out shortly after warranty ended and the only way to replace the bulb is to call out a repair tech - who wants to spend money on that? I wish I™™d bought 2 separate appliances and installed them with trim to look like one unit so I could replace just the Advantium.

Control Panel Failure

Unit had a control panel failure after 8-9 uses. GE customer support is horrible

I am somewhat underwhelmed by the Cafe line of appliances. While well-featured, their construction does not feel substantive. I expected better from what is supposed to be GE's higher grade of appliances. We also had substantial trouble with the dealer where we bought them, but that's another conversation.
