After a lifetime of cooking on a gas stove top I decided the responsible replacement in my new kitchen would be induction. It looks great as well as being better for the environment and has helped me regain my youth. Yes, I'm having to learn to how to cook all over again and feeling like a young bride. An added benefiit.

We were torn between replacing our electric cooktop with gas or induction. Our space wasn't ideal for gas, so we focused on induction. This Bosch cooktop has blown us away. The precision with lower temp and the insanely fast boiling have converted us. We will never go back to any other cooktop technology.

My previous one by another manufacturer kept turning off for no reason, sometimes staying off for two weeks, then working again. The small eye does seem to not heat as fast as previous one, but so far a nice look, great experience with this one!

Touchscreen controls are immediately responsive. Cleanup is easy, although I find that no black appliances ever look quite clean. I was hoping to buy white or light gray, but none were available with elements as large as I wanted. My Christmas dinner shrimp newberg came out so much better with the elements adjusting temperature immediately. I just wish there were dots an inch outside the element +s, to help me correctly place my pots that have the same diameter as the elements. Also wish there were another larger element, and that Bosch sold a grill pan (lighter than cast iron) the biggest size to heat on the flex zone. Eurolux might make one, but takes weeks to answer Chat questions and posts no phone number on their website.

What an upgrade from my Viking electric cooktop! There has been a small learning curve, along with the discarding of a few pots and pans, but I am very happy with this 30" Bosch Benchmark induction cooktop. Installation was seamless. I have purchased 4 silicone protectors to cover the cooking areas-- I don't have to remove them when using the cooktop, and cleanup is a breeze.

I love switching to induction and the Bosch is amazing. The control and features and durability are all great. The only reason this is 4 stars is we had the pot detection on the large burner go out and it has taken us 3 months to get re placement. The other 3 burners work great though!

I just remodeled my kitchen and got all Bosch appliances in black stainless steel. The induction cooktop is such an upgrade from my last one. I love that the cooking areas are so flexible. Induction is the best way to go IMO, heats fast, food doesn't "cook" onto the surface if there are spills or boilovers and it is so easy to maintain.

Three GE broken induction cooktops and 6 months without service over a year and a half, I said no more GE and replaced it with a Bosch cooktop. A year later the Bosch is working as advertised. It respomds as a gas stove to on and off and to temperature gradations but without the dangers of fire and gas leaks. In heating equivalent amounts of water to boiling, it is faster than the microwave Clean up is a breeze. No grates or wells for food and spills. Just wipe and move on. I recommend a special cleaner to keep the glass top like new.

As an avid home cook, I've used my share of ranges and cooktops, but the **Bosch NITP060UC Benchmark Series Induction Cooktop** is, hands down, the best stovetop appliance I have ever owned.
The user experience is so seamless and powerful, it truly feels like the cooktop is doing all the work for the user and doing it perfectly.

The cooktop was part of a remodel. After it was installed, we successfully heated two different pans on two different days. On the third day, the unit displayed 4 "E"'s. Repairman said we needed 4 new circuit boards and one was on back-order for 3 weeks. About a month later we finally have our new cooktop and have used it once successfully. Fingers crossed.

We have recently moved away from our gas appliance and absolutely love our new induction cooktop. Ultra fast boiling of water for our am oatmeal never ceases to amaze me. The clock has a fun tone to keep me focused on the stove. The induction safety aspect was never more evident as when I recently worked on a older electric stove and had to be very careful once the pot was removed! So nice to have the BOSCH induction stove in our (cooking) lives!

Bosch Induction Cooking

The Bosch NITP060UC cooktop, as with induction cooktops in general, is efficient and fast acting. The induction process heats pans very quickly, in my experience bringing water to a boil much faster than the gas cooktop it replaced. The glass cooktop surface is very easy to keep clean. It does get hot, but only from the heat transferred to it from the cookware. The glass cools fairly quickly after a hot pan is removed. This cooktop model has what Bosch calls the FlexInduction cooking zone which provides several sizes of cooking areas for different pan sizes plus the ability to link the zone into one large area. When linked, this area works particularly well with a griddle.
I have not owned this cooktop long enough to have any experience with its reliability, but several available sources ranked Bosch very high in reliability. This was a prime reason that I purchased the Bosch.
This model includes WiFi capability and a phone app to communicate with the cooktop though I haven't made much use of the app. One advantage the app provides is that it displays the status of the cooktop timers. If you happen to be out of hearing range of the cooktop when the countdown timer reaches zero, the app can send a notification to your phone that the timer has ended.
The app includes a function to change the power setting for a burner. This is not truly a remote control because, for safety's sake, you have to confirm the setting change on the cooktop itself. While I understand the safety aspect of this requirement, I do not see the point of using the app to apply a change that you then have to confirm on the cooktop. Why not just make the change directly on the cooktop? BYW, you might expect to confirm a power change by pressing the "button" labeled Confirm on the cooktop. But, no, instead you confirm by pressing the corresponding burner icon on the cooktop legend map.
I reduced my rating by one star for the cooktop controls and labeling:
Pluses:
1. The cooktop controls are totally touch controlled providing an uninterrupted flat glass surface.
2. There is a panel lock (or child lock) to prevent accidental changes to the touch controls. It can be set for short term, e.g., when you want to wipe the glass top, or for long term to prevent a child from accidentally activating (or deactivating) the cooktop.
3. When cookware is removed from an active "burner", or if power is set for a cook area when no cookware is in place, the controls automatically turn the power off after a few seconds.
4. The long linear control area for power settings provides easy and precise setting or changing of the power level.
Minuses:
1. While the labels for most of the controls are easy to see, the markings indicating the cooking areas and the power setting levels are very faint against the black surface and do not show up very well in anything less than direct and bright kitchen lighting. The attached photo shows the difference between these two types of labels.
2. The cooking controls are not very intuitive. The cooktop uses the same linear power setting "pad" to control all of the cooking areas ("burners"). You select the power setting for a burner by first selecting the particular burner on a small legend map (see photo) of the burners that is part of the control panel, then then you set the power setting for that burner. To use a second burner, you select that second burner from the legend and then select its power setting. When two or more burners are in use, if you need to adjust the heat for one of them, it's very easy to mistakenly adjust the wrong one. The only indication you get for which burner is active (for the controls) is that the current active burner will show slightly brighter than the other burners on the legend map.
3. When using two or more burners simultaneously, you cannot just press the power button to turn off the currently active burner; doing so turns off the entire cooktop. Instead, you need to select the desired burner, then set its power level to zero; this will turn off that one burner while leaving the other burner(s) unchanged.
4. The controls include built-in count down and count up timers. The count up timer is peculiar. It displays seconds counting up to 59, then, rather than displaying minutes and seconds, it switches to displaying only minutes. This is the cheap way to do it, saving the cost of two more LED digits in the display. For longer timings, this probably wouldn't matter. However, when I am brewing a cup of coffee, since I typically want it to brew for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes, this timer operation is not useful. (Note that in the cooktop phone app, this timer does continue to display both minutes and seconds. However, if I were inclined to open my phone, I could just use a phone timer and skip the cooktop app)
5. When cookware is removed from an active "burner", the controls automatically turn the power off after a few seconds. I listed this above as a plus. The minus side of this feature is that the timeout is very short. Sometimes when pouring water from a kettle, the burner turns off before I set the kettle back down. It would be nice if the length of this timeout period was adjustable.

Our first Induction Stovetop is easy to use, easy to clean, and I love the safety features!
We keep a thin piece of wood over the top when not in use to protect from us and our cats (paw prints/scratches). We especially like how quickly the heat dissapates and how the top remains room temp except under the pan/pot in use.

We decided to eliminate all natural gas appliances in our home following the reported possible health issues. We have replaced our gas water heater and installed an electric heat pump water heater as our first step. Next we started researhing induction cooktops. We found the Bosch Benchmark to be the best choice. The controls are easy to use and it looks great. We've had it now for about a month, and have cooked several meals with it. It was a little daunting at first to switch from gas to induction, but well worth it. It's easy to adjust the controls for precise settings and the cooktop is very easy to clean. Looks great too!

Overall things are great. There is a definite learning curve in what the heat levels really are as to what is medium, medium high etc.
It would be nice to have the specific edges of the elements delineated. I'm still trying to figure out what pans work best on the different elements.

30" Bosch Induction Cooktop Review
Bigsoup
5/13/2024
Sleek and Intuitive Cooktop
The Bosch 30" cooktop is a delight to use, boasting a sleek and modern design that elevates the aesthetic of any kitchen. Transitioning from my older Jenn Air electric cooktop was a breeze, thanks to the intuitive controls and user-friendly interface.
Impressive Features
This cooktop is packed with impressive features that enhance the cooking experience. The bridging function allows you to combine burners for larger pots and pans, while the timer and automatic power-off features provide added convenience and safety. Although the Wi-Fi connectivity may not be a game-changer, it can be handy for receiving timer notifications on your smartphone.
Smooth Operation
One minor drawback is that the inductive controls may require a few taps before the unit powers on, but this is a small trade-off for the smooth and responsive operation once it's up and running.
Powerful Downdraft Ventilation
To complement the cooktop, I paired it with the Bosch 800 downdraft and blower motor (DHI1FZUC). Initially skeptical about its ability to effectively capture smoke and fumes, I've been pleasantly surprised by its powerful exhaust capabilities.
Installation Challenges
While the installation process for the downdraft and blower was costly and challenging for a DIY enthusiast like myself, the exceptional support from Bosch's technical team made it manageable. Their expertise and guidance were invaluable, and I highly recommend reaching out to them prior to installation for helpful tips.
Overall, the Bosch 30" cooktop and downdraft ventilation system have exceeded my expectations, delivering a seamless and enjoyable cooking experience with a touch of modern sophistication.
